Okay, now what?

I truly was thinking and sighing a big relief that 2020 was over and now things were going to get better…. Ummmm, what happened? I personally am going to make an exception this year and start 2021 in February. I just think the New Year got a false start out of the gate and it deserves a do-over. With that I am optimistic that this New Year is going to steadily improve, and we will be able to get back to some sense of normalcy.

Even with the start of the vaccinations I realize it will take some time to get most people inoculated coupled with everyone requiring 2 shots and a short time for the vaccinations to take place and start to accomplish the “herd immunity” we desperately need. Not until then do I see things starting to relax and people can take a deep breath and feel it will be ok. I do think it will take continued social distancing, mask wearing and lots of Common Sense to get us all to the finish line.

My wish is for everyone that has held on this long, please see the light at the end of the tunnel. The days are already getting longer, the blue sky seems bluer, buds on the trees and shrubs are starting to swell and my mailbox is filled with tantalizing gardening magazines so I know we can do this.

So, what are you doing in anticipation of conquering COVID-19? Are you planning a late summer trip? Planning a family get together? Are you going to jump back into the fray or are you going to learn from this and spend a little more down time with your family and garden? I am excited for spring to see everything come to life and for me that will signal the re-birth that all will be well once again.

Hang in there everyone, I look forward to seeing you on the other side!
