Best Trunk or Treat Spots For Families in the Treasure Valley

If you have small children who may not be able to walk or run as far as an older child, then you may want to consider trunk or treating instead of traditional trick or treating. Trunk or treating is the practice of gathering many different cars in a large parking lot, (like that of a church or school), and decorating them for Halloween. Candy is then placed in the open trunk of those cars and kids and parents can go through the parking lot visiting each car in a short distance rather than running around a large neighborhood. It is safer and can be very fun for kids, especially very young kids, who may not be ready to do the traditional trick or treat route. In today’s article, we’re putting together a list of some of the best places in the valley to take your kids trunk or treating this year. Enjoy!

Any excuse to hang out at the JUMP building is a good one! There are always fun things going on there and this is no exception. This is one of the largest trunk or treat events in the state and you won’t want to miss it! There will be inflatable decorations all throughout the JUMP park and many non-profit organizations will have their candy stations ready to shower you with treats and family friendly scares.

When: October 28th. 5pm to 8pm

Where: The JUMP Building. 1000 W Myrtle St, Boise.

The city of Meridian always knows how to put on a show. This trunk or treat event is also a fantastic charity fundraiser. While attendance is free, a donation of $1 or one canned food item is encouraged and welcome. More than 80 businesses are expected to attend, so bring a huge candy sack!

When: October 26th. 6pm to 9pm

Where: Meridian City Hall, 33 E. Broadway, Meridian

The Riverside is already one of the best places in town to have an event or convention, but it’s also a great place for trunk or treating! This one isn’t the biggest in the state, but they go hard into it. Each parking spot is almost a haunted house in and of itself and they even bring large trucks in and decorate them that your children can climb on and explore. Very spooky and fun for grownups and kids alike.

When: October 27th. 5pm to 7pm

Where: 2900 W. Chinden Blvd., Garden City

This one is a “blink and you’ll miss it” kind of opportunity, but it is probably the most unique and memorable of them all. Your kids can do their trunk or treating right on the racetrack in the pit stop area. No cars will be racing at the time, of course. But, you can stay for racing which starts up soon after the trunk or treating closes. Event is sponsored by Pepsi Sprints, Project Filter Pro-4s, Idaho CDL Training Street Stocks, Boise Bath and Kitchen Company Mini Stocks, Trammel Construction Stingers, and Bandoleros. Trophies by Trammel Construction. If you’re a racing fan or even curious about our local racing scene, then this is a must-see for you this year.

When: October 28th. 12pm to 1pm

Where: Meridian Speedway, 335 S Main St #2971, Meridian

In Conclusion

We hope that today’s guide will help you be better prepared to plan out all of your fall entertainment this year. Remember, no matter the time of year, there is always something fun to do around Boise and Meridian.
